Application Process

Application Process

Hello and thank you for considering a position with us. We work hard to ensure that our selection process is as transparent, fair, thorough and straightforward as possible. The process is described below.

Further Information on the Position
Each time we advertise a new position, we also provide you with the name of someone that you can contact to seek clarification on the details about the role and position.

Completing a Formal Application
Once you have decided to formally apply for a role, you'll need to complete the relevant application form below and email the documents specified in the job ad to admin@wellingtoncs.com.au.

The forms also allow you to specify if you are applying for a casual position.

Please note: these are fillable PDF forms and must be viewed in a program or application that allows you to do complete them on your computer (e.g. Adobe Acrobat). If you are not able to do so, please print, complete by hand and email the scanned forms along with required documents to us.

Receipt of Application
Once we receive your application, and after the closing date has passed, we will consider it in light of the published experience, qualification and skills required as described in the advertised criteria. You will be contacted via email on the progress of your application.

Interviews
When you're invited to interview, you should expect to meet with a small panel of interviewers. We use panel interviews because we find them to be an efficient and thorough way of helping to assess candidate suitability. In some cases, a second interview may also be required for our preferred candidates. For roles reporting directly to the Principal, an interview with a panel of School Board members will also be part of the selection process.

During the interview, we will ask you a series of questions that will span a wide range of areas, including your work history, your work performance and achievements, your Christian beliefs, your work style and what you feel are your key capabilities and development areas.

Finalisation and Offer
Once the full interview process is complete, and as the final preferred candidate, we will arrange to speak with your work and personal referees. We will only ever contact your referees when you authorise us to do so. At this stage, and only as the preferred candidate, you will also be required to submit a NSW Government Working with Children Check for verification before employment commences.

In preparation for your interview, we encourage you to read through the important documents on our Suggested Readings page.
